Rural History Day

Join us July 20th 12pm - 4pm. 


​Tickets are $5.00 non-members. Members Free. 

The Glass Family Log Home was  built in Sharpsburg Maryland in the 1700's and later moved to the Rural Village.  Join Roger Fairbourn as he presents it's 200 year old story his efforts that resulted in the preservation this historic early home. 

Program:

Noon - 3pm
Tastings - Bread baked in the outdoor brick oven - homemade lemonade.
Demonstrations: 1800's bread baking at the Homestead outdoor brick fired oven.
Butter churning using redware butter churn.
Experience making your own:
Christmas ornaments out of homemade playdough using early butter molds.

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Keynote Speaker and tour of the structure.
