Volunteer Opportunities

The Friends of the Washington County Rural Heritage Museum is seeking candidates to join the volunteer board of directors. Currently, four board member terms are expiring, and applications are being accepted to fill these important positions. Individuals interested in contributing to the museum’s mission and community engagement are encouraged to apply.

Job Description: Board President

The board president will have a demonstrated passion for the organization's mission and will work with board members and the administrator to lead and ensure that the organization operates efficiently and fulfills its duties using our strategic and visitor experience plans as guides in order to sustain long-term growth.

​Job Description: Board Secretary

The board secretary is responsible for maintaining the organization's records and ensuring effective communication. We are looking for someone with amazing organizational skills and strong written and oral communication skills. Key duties include:
​ - A strong understanding of coporate governance.
- Recording and distributing meeting minutes.
- Maintaining official documents and records.
- Assisting in the preparation of meeting agendas.


Job Description: Board Member/Director - 2 openings
​

 Board members bring together a wealth of knowledge and experience, which is essential for the successful operation of the non-profit organization. If you have a passion for history, education or community engagement we would love to learn about your background!

Commitment & Expectations
This is a two-year term and a completely voluntary position. Board members are required to:
• Attend a meeting on the second Wednesday of every month 
• Actively participate in fundraising efforts and other organizational events
