As a nonprofit organization, Friends of the Washington County Rural Heritage Museum relies on the generosity of friends like you to help advance our mission which is dedicated to preserving and sharing the cultural and technological development of Washington County from its inception in 1776 through 1940. The Friends of the WCRHM shepherd a collection of over five thousand objects which include an 1800's rural Maryland village and artifacts from manufacturing, transportation, agriculture, and early home life.

The Friends of the Washington County Rural Heritage Museum is excited to announce the kickoff of our $10,000 Challenge Grant campaign! The loyal donor and supporter of the museum has pledged to match donations made to the Campaign, if we can raise $10,000 from other donors first.
Our mission for the last twenty-four years has been to bring to life the history and heritage of Washington County. Our extensive collections provide learning opportunities and fun for everyone from children to senior citizens. The Challenge Grant will be used by the Museum to broaden the number of visitors to the museum and to improve the interpretation and management of our museum collections so more can be discovered during a museum visit.
We hope we can count on your support to ensure that future generations will cherish the stories about the history that made Washington County special to so many generations.
