GARDENER BADGE
Location: Rural Village Potato Patch
Learn about how potatos were planted by hand in the 1800's, the different tools that were used, the different variety of potatos that were favorites in our area, planting times and early pest control.
A guided tour of our Heritage Farm Equipment Building let you explore the transitions of plowing the fields and harvesting the crops.  After the tour, children will get hands on opportunities to plant potatos in our freshly plowed potato patch.
This activity is offered either in late March or early April as we need to allow enough time for the potatos to grow to maturity for our August Spud Fest.
