 CHURCH WORSHIP SEATING RESTORATION

In 1853,  a log cabin structure was built along Mt. Tabor Road
and used as a place of worship for the Mount Tabor Society. The Mount Tabor United Brethren
in Christ Church was such a conservative place to gather, that a low wall was built down the
center of the church to keep males and females from making eye contact during services.

In 1991 the church was saved from demonlition, purchased and moved to the Washington County Agrcultural Education Center in 2009. The Friends of the Washington County Rural Heritage Museum are responsible for the care and curation of the Church. Their project is to recreate the low partion wall in 2024.
